The campaign for female athletes to earn the same as men

Several sporting greats have backed a campaign for men and women to be paid the same amount of taxpayer money in equivalent sports.

A petition has been taken to parliament over the matter.

“What we are calling for in our campaign is for gender equality to be a condition of government funding, of grants and funding,” Sydney long-boarder Lucy Small, leader of the Equal Pay for Equal Play NSW campaign, said.
