The case for bringing back car registration stickers
There are calls for car registration stickers to be made available in Victoria again.
They were scrapped by the Napthine government in 2014, in a move that was forecast to save taxpayers $20 million a year.
But it’s now claimed to have led to an increase in fines for people, often unknowingly, driving unregistered vehicles and being fined up to $1000.

“It’s not that people are deliberately not paying – they just forget,” 3AW motoring guru, Paul Gover, said on Monday.
And he said government wasn’t doing enough to help remind motorists ahead of their expiry.
“That’s what really annoys me,” he said.
