The Bayside City council will be moving to a digital parking system in an attempt to crack down on $1 million in permit fraud.

According to the vice-president at Council Watch, Dean Hurlston, the problem is a “problem of their own making”.

“This is just silly, of course people come and go, people do lose stickers. The whole idea of stickers is the problem, this is again council speculating that thousands of people are rorting a system that it actually hasn’t designed properly and it doesn’t really know what it’s doing,” Mr Hurlston told Dee Dee.
