The ‘complex’ reason the Defence Force is recruiting more personnel

The Australian Defence Force is seeking more recruits after a defence strategic review found Australia was in the most “complex strategic circumstances since the second World War.”
Minister for veteran affairs and minister for defence personnel, Matt Keogh says there are a range of positions available as the ADF seeks to expand to 20,000 positions through to 2040.
“In order to make sure that we are best positioned in those circumstances in our country, in our region, we need to expand the capability of our Defence Force, that means obviously new equipment, more modern equipment, it also means a larger Defence Force,” he told Neil Mitchell.
