A recent study from Finder.com has found one in five Australians have confessed to stealing or incorrectly scanning something from the supermarket over the last year.

Money expert at Finder, Richard Whitten, explained the numbers behind the alarming statistic to Tom Elliott earlier.

“It’s about 50 per cent of people taking expensive mushrooms and calling them brown onions and it’s 50 per cent just walking out with the item and not actually paying a cent,” he said.
