Vaping has become a trend with teens, especially in schools, with kids as young as 13 contacting Quit Helpline to treat their nicotine addiction.

Vaping devices are illegal to buy under the age of 18, but kids under 18 are either buying the devices through friends or social media platforms.

The CEO of the Australian Council on Smoking and Health, Maurice Swanson, outlined the facts surrounding young people vaping.

“Schools across Australia are being swamped with illegal vaping devices,” Mr Swanson told Tom Elliott.

“Kids who are non-smokers who get addicted to nicotine through using vaping devices are three times more likely to go on to smoke cigarettes.”
