Victoria could reach the 80 per cent double-dose vaccination threshold sooner than expected.

Data analysts at CovidBase predict Victoria will have 80 per cent of eligible people fully-vaccinated by October 28.

Yesterday, the Federal Government confirmed 400,000 Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be sent to Victoria in the next fortnight.

Dean of the School of Health Sciences at Swinburne University, Professor Bruce Thompson, says “we actually have a jolly good shot” of reaching 80 per cent double-dosed by October 28.

“Now the supply is really sorted out there’s really no delays,” he told Ross and Russel.

“There’s so many people that have already had the first dose. We know when they’re going to get the second — it’s already booked in.”
