Former Richmond footballer and 3AW commentator Graeme Bond has explained what it was like to meet the Queen at half-time of the first Sunday VFL match ever.

Queen Elizabeth attended the Round 1 clash between Richmond and Fitzroy at the MCG in 1970.

“It was extremely special,” Bondy told Tom Elliott.
