Tom Elliott was left saddened by new research that found 49 per cent of Grade 4 students had experienced some form of bullying in that year at school.

And it’s an issue that’s only seemingly getting worse.

Leading parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson said while there was no doubt it was a significant issue, children had also become better at identifying bullying when they see it.

“It’s devastating for so many of them,” he said.
