The snap of a finger clicking is the fastest body movement on record.

It produces 1.5 million degrees of angular acceleration, per second squared.

Ross suggested it might be time to ditch the phrase “in the blink of an eye” in favour of “in the snap of a finger.”

“I think so!” Dr Saad Bhamla, assistant professor of biomolecular engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, which conducted the study, told 3AW Breakfast.

“A blink of an eye is about 20 times slower.”
