Young carers and young parents will be targeted in an attempt to reduce the number of people relying on the welfare system. 

A new report has found these two groups, as well as young students, are set to access income support for decades.

The Federal Government is offering funding to organisations that come up with proposals to get people into work.

Minister for Human Services Alan Tudge spoke with Nick McCallum.

‘It’s a new approach to tackling welfare dependence.’ – Mr Tudge told 3AW Drive.
