A leading NFL executive has shed more light on what fans can expect from the groundbreaking first NFL game to be staged in Australia.

The LA Rams will take on a yet-to-be-announced opponent at the MCG next September, in what will be a landmark moment for Australian sport.

NFL Asia-Pacific head Brett Gosper told Shane McInnes that Melbourne should expect a week-long extravaganza ahead of the big game.

“The actual event will be like a mini Super Bowl,” he said.

“It will have a build-up over a week’s period.”

In the exclusive chat, Gosper also speaks about the half-time show planned for the game, as well as what time the match could begin in Melbourne.
