The future of a 150-year Bendigo tradition threatened by bats

Following reports fruit bats have prevented ambulances from using Bendigo Hospital, the Bendigo Easter Fair Society says bats are threatening the future of the 150-year-old fair.
President of the society, Simon Mulqueen, says the bats have always been a problem but have gotten worse.
“Now they’ve gone from one portion of the park to basically the whole park … and it’s destroying the availability of the park itself to the community to use on a daily basis and threatening the future of the fair,” he told Neil Mitchell.
