A new treatment called “CAR-T therapy” has been labelled a “game-changer” for treating kids with a rare form of brain cancer.

Researchers at the Walter and Eliza Hall Medical Research Institute have made a breakthrough discovery for treating an aggressive type of brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, which affects 20 children Australia each year.

Associate Professor Misty Jenkins believes the therapy is really a “game-changer for the cancer landscape”.
