Tom Elliott has unpacked one of the unexpected “casualties” of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East … Victoria’s Big Build.

With the 3AW Mornings host revealing based on his own calculations what the real cost of the project would be to Victorian taxpayers.

The estimated total sum of the project was originally valued during the pandemic in 2021, with Elliott predicting the difference between the two is in the billions.

Transport Planner and Infrastructure Advisor, Dr Eric Keys, described the situation as a white elephant.

“It was clear through my assessment, through the publicly available information, that the project was far bigger than it needed to be for the traffic volumes being forecast,” Dr Keys said.
