The grim COVID-19 figure Neil Mitchell says ‘can’t be ignored’
A growing number of medical experts are calling for the reintroduction of some COVID-19 mitigation measures and Neil Mitchell says it’s time politicians took notice.
There were 20 COVID-19 deaths recorded in Victoria in the past 24 hours.
So far in May there have been 192 deaths and the month is far from over.
“By the end of the month we’re going to pass the annual road toll,” Neil Mitchell said.
“Last year the annual road toll was 236. We’re only 44 short of that — we’ll probably pass that this week.
“That can’t be ignored.
“Yes, some people will die and we won’t be able to prevent some of those deaths, but there must be things that can be done to mitigate it — masks are one thing, ventilation is another, testing is another, extending the boosters is another — and nobody will talk about it!
“We’ve got an alternative government and a government who just want to ignore it.
“Living with COVID does not mean ignoring COVID.”
