Tom Elliott says he is sick of the hypocrisy when it comes to climate change and the environment.

The 3AW Drive host took aim at local councils blaming Australia for global emissions, not China or India, as well as a recent survey that found 85 per cent of Generation Z would not be interested in working in mining because it is seen as environmentally destructive.

Two-thirds of those surveyed said they wanted a career that had a “positive influence” on the world.

Tom Elliott said he was confident almost every single Gen Z person surveyed would use mobile phones, laptops and other pieces of technology.

“There is so much hypocrisy about this, I don’t know where to start,” he said.

“They say mining is evil, but their lives are dominated by the products that mining provides.”
