The idea for Geelong’s own Minister

There’s a push for Geelong to get its own dedicated State Minister.

Both sides of government are being asked to commit to creating the cabinet role, which would be separate from the regional development portfolio.

The MP would have direct power and responsibility for developing the Geelong region.  

Former Mayor Keith Fagg told 3AW Breakfast it’s a great idea, and it’s more than just wishful thinking.

‘Geelong is Victoria’s second city,’ he said.

‘We are much more than a regional centre.’
