An idea from the Merri-bek City Council has caught Tom Elliott’s attention this morning, with the 3AW Mornings host labelling it “extraordinary”.

The council tonight will debate whether $70,000 of ratepayers’ money should be sent overseas to fund international carbon credits.

And socialist alliance councillor and community advocate at Merri-bek City Council, Sue Bolton, thinks the policy is “cheating”.
