The former Premier of Victoria Jeff Kennett has called on the Victorian Liberal Party and One Nation to do a preference deal for the upcoming state election later this year.

Mr Kennett says he’s desperately worried about Victoria’s future.

“We cannot continue to have a government that has allowed corruption and waste to continue to dictate our future,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“I’m fundamentally saying Labor should be put last on any ballot paper, Greens second last, and the rest of us should work together to say no to corruption,” he added.

With One Nation’s growing popularity, Tom Elliott says they can’t be ignored, but it has raised questions.

What does it mean for the National Party? Because One Nation will go and campaign heavily against the Nationals in seats that they currently own,” he said.
