The ‘incredibly confronting’ situation facing vulnerable Australians
New research from The Salvation Army has found vulnerable Australians are surviving on less than $6 a day, and showed 93 per cent of respondents have reached out to The Salvation Army in the last 12 months as they struggle to afford basic living necessities.
Major Brendan Nottle claims the situation is “incredibly confronting” and has seen record numbers come through The Salvation Army café on Bourke Street in recent times.
“Nobody has to struggle alone,” Major Nottle told 3AW Breakfast.
