RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Two Victorian police officers have had to postpone their wedding after an incredibly unlucky last minute twist.

Ocean Grove couple, Steve and Arissa, who are both police officers, were due to get married on Thursday.

But, during her final job on her last shift before going on leave to prepare for the wedding, Arissa made an arrest that would put the pair’s plans on hold.

“Unfortunately she did the job too well. The very last offender of the very last shift before we went on leave to get ready for our wedding turned out to test COVID positive,” Steve told Ross and Russel.

Due to close contact with the COVID-positive person, Arissa must isolate for 14 days.

The pair received the bad news on Sunday night.

“She broke the news to me and then she spent the rest of the day in bed pretty depressed about the situation and then we started looking at ‘What are the positives that we can pull from it?’,” Steve said.

“Every bad situation has a silver lining.”
