The international effects that may flow from the Hamas attack

A former ambassador to Israel says the Hamas attack could develop into a “much broader” conflict and have effects all over the world.

Dave Sharma, who served as Australia’s ambassador to Israel from 2013 to 2017, says reports Iran is funding the attacks are “highly credible” and may cause the localised conflict to “develop into a much broader regional conflict”.

And he fears the Hamas-Israel war will have implications for Ukraine’s fight against Russia.
