The key to finding valuable sports memorabilia

The owner of Sports Online says there’s no doubt sports memorabilia can be “hit or miss” when it comes to how valuable it’ll be at sale.

It comes after the shirt won by Diego Maradona when he scored the controversial “Hand of God” goal against England in the 1986 World Cup sold for £7.1 million ($12.3 million AUD).

It’s the highest price ever paid at auction for a piece of sports memorabilia.

Dr David Poole told Tom Elliott said there was no secret formula to finding something worth millions.

“It can be quite hit and miss,” he said.

But he offered a few bits of advice.
