BREAKING: Jacinta Allan officially elected as Victoria’s 49th Premier
Victorians have a new Premier with Jacinta Allan elected “unopposed” with Ben Carroll elected as her deputy Premier after three hours of deliberations.
She said at a press conference she was elected unanimously.
“It is such a deep honour and privilege’s to be in the position to be heading to Government House and to be sworn in as Premier of Victoria,” she said.

“I pledge to continue to work incredibly hard,” she added.
Socialist Left member for Eltham, Vicki Ward, will fill the ministerial cabinet position left by Daniel Andrews’ resignation as the member of Mulgrave.
Heidi Murphy, Nine News reporter, says the returning officer and Box Hill MP, Paul Hamer, came out and told reporters she was elected “unopposed.”
“He just said they stood “unopposed” and were elected “unopposed’, that’s not our understanding,” she told Jacqui Felgate.
