The latest research on how sleep impacts development of false memories
International research has found sleep can help improve memory, and also, impact how false memories are developed.
Psycholinguist from the University of York, in the UK, Dr Matthew Mak, says researchers are interested in a specific type of false memory.
“We asked 500 young adults to remember a list of related words … and then we asked them to recall as many words as they could, either after a night of sleep or a period of being awake during the day,” he told Ross and Russel.
