The latest update from the Middle East: Israel and Hamas peace treaty in effect

Israel and Hamas have signed off on a peace treaty that will see October 7 hostages released as early as Monday, Donald Trump has announced.

Nine US Correspondent, Jonathan Kearsley, spoke on 3AW Drive about the unfolding situation saying “there is cause for celebration tonight but there is still some way to go”.

“We have seen celebrations inside Gaza and celebrations in Tel Aviv’s hostage square,” Kearsley told Jacqui Felgate.
