The Liberal Party’s ‘failure’ that keeps proving costly on election day
The Liberal Party is being urged to “pivot” and represent a larger number of Australians if it wants to remain relevant as a political party.
If Labor wins the upcoming NSW election, every state on mainland Australia will be led by a Labor government, as well as at a federal level.
Kos Samaras, Director at RedBridge Group Australia, which conducts social research and polling, told Tom Elliott the Liberal Party had largely failed to “capture the imagination” of emerging generations.
“Historically, what’s happened is people have always been a little bit more Left-wing when they were younger and become more conservative as they’ve aged – this is not happening with this generation,” he said.
