The lobster flag that will help bring the artistic edge back to St Kilda

A St Kilda artist is hoping a lobster will bring the artistic edge back to his suburb.

Chris Beaumont has designed a new flag, featuring the lobster and a bunch of quinces, that will fly proudly atop the George Hotel on Fitzroy street.

Mt Beaumont told Tom Elliott it fits with the areas quirky character.

‘There were artists around, there were musicians around,’ he said.

‘People lived there that did funny little things all the time. You’d always find something you never expected to see. It just bring a bit of that element back to St Kilda.’
