The mammoth salary being paid to the public servant overseeing stalled Airport Rail Link
The public servant in charge of the Airport Rail Link is being paid more than $560,000 a year, despite the project being put on ice.
When questioned about Vito Trantino’s salary earlier today, Minister for Public and Active Transport, Gabrielle Williams, said “he will also take on responsibility in two weeks time for the Regional Rail Revival project”.
But shadow minister for transport infrastructure, David Southwick, says it doesn’t pass the pub test.

“Seriously, what is this bloke going to do all day?,” he said on 3AW Drive with Tom Elliott.
“When the review was done in may, all the people that were working on airport rail were effectively redeployed onto other projects and the government said we’re not going to do any more expenditure on airport rail.”
