Tom Elliott has reacted to a media release by the ‘Whistleblowers, Activists and Communities Alliance’ (WACA).

It comes after the oldest surviving building in Melbourne in La Trobe’s Cottage was painted red, adding to the string of vandalism to colonial buildings and monuments.

“It’s utterly ridiculous,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

“That means we’re going to have a lot of vandalism right across Melbourne.”

Lord mayor of Melbourne, Nick Reece, then teed off on the “absolute idiots” after hearing about the media release.

“They clearly don’t know their history particularly well,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
