Neil Mitchell has labelled new federal government advice on diets as “nanny state stuff”.

It was reported on Tuesday that new guidelines will soon change to take into the account environmental sustainability of certain foods, rather than just whether things are simply healthy or not.

“This is nanny state stuff,” Neil told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“Give us medical reasons (to not consume certain foods), but do not get into the area of environmental science.”
