The new Melbourne eatery where you can expect to be insulted

Staff at a new Lygon Street restaurant will deliberately insult, ridicule and ignore customers.

“Great food, terrible service” is the motto of Karen’s Diner, a 1950s-style burger joint.

It opens next month.

Aden Levin, director of Viral Ventures, told Dee Dee Dunleavy it was all in the name of fun.

“A lot of our staff are actors, or come from a strong hospitality background,” he said.

And it turns out there are a few specials in store for any customers called Karen!
