The number of suburbs where it’s cheaper to have a mortgage than rent

It is cheaper to have a mortgage than it is to rent in almost one in seven Australian suburbs, new Domain data has revealed.

And that trend is showing no sign of slowing down.

“It’s never been harder to find a rental in Melbourne,” Emily Power, property editor at Nine.com.au and a familiar voice to 3AW listeners, told Dee Dee Dunleavy on Friday.
