Tom Elliott admits he was “horrified” to learn the Andrews Government was shelving the Airport Rail Link project after already spending $1 billion on it.

He says it brought back memories of the controversial East West Link project and the government “wasting” money.

A report in The Age revealed the government had already spent $1 billion on early construction work for the project.
