Tom Elliott says he was disappointed to hear the Prime Minister booed at Shane Warne’s memorial service on Wednesday night.

The 3AW Drive host said it was not the time, or place, to boo the PM.

“I know it was at the MCG and, to a lot of people, it seemed like a sporting event – but it wasn’t,” Tom Elliott said on Thursday.

“It was a memorial, which is only one step away from a funeral.”

It made Tom Elliott think about the state funeral he recently attended for Bert Newton.

“If somebody had booed there when Daniel Andrews got up to speak it would have been incredibly inappropriate,” he said.

“This is no different.”
