The only ‘foolproof’ way to avoid being swooped by magpies this spring

The swooping season is upon us.

Sean Dooley, National Public Affairs Manager at Birdlife Australia, shared some tips on how to avoid being a target this spring.

“Whether you agree with it, or not, the only foolproof method of avoiding being swooped by a magpie is to make sure the magpie knows you’re a friend,” he said.

“And the only foolproof method there is if you’re feeding them.”
