‘The pole came down on the car’: Police pursuit comes to abrupt halt in Hampton Park
A pole has crashed onto a police car at Hampton Park.
The incident happened after four youths in a white Holden Commodore sped along the South Gippsland Freeway.
The driver then exited onto the Princess Highway, mounted the centre median strip, and clipped a power pole which subsequently fell onto the police car.
The four youths dumped the car in Gumbuya Close, Eumemmerring and fled.
3AW caller Steve told Neil Mitchell he saw the high-speed incident.
“The pole has come down on top of the police car,” Steve said.

Police confirmed they are still searching for the four youths who fled in Hampton Park.
