There has been a proposal from Environment Victoria today to put health warning labels on all gas appliances, a proposal Tom Elliott finds “extraordinary”.

“The idea that we now have to treat it as a threat to our very existence I find extraordinary,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

He also pointed out the double standard with the push towards more electrical appliances.

Founder of climate advocacy group Comms Declare, Belinda Noble, then joined 3AW Mornings and spoke on the “surprising” results from a poll the company conducted.

The poll suggested 73 per cent of people support health warnings on gas appliances.

“I think people are really calling out, they want clear mandatory pollution labels on their appliances,” Ms Noble said.
