Peak psychiatrist and psychological groups are pushing for Australians with an ADHD diagnosis to be eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

ADHD Australia Board member, Dr Patrick Concannon, says there’s a large number of people needing a diagnosis.

“Unfortunately there are no public health services that do that so it’s all in the private sector and there are a limited number of pediatricians and psychiatrists, so the waiting list can be anywhere from months to … over a year,” he told Mark Allen and Jimmy Bartel, filling in for Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft.
