The push for more affordable electric vehicles in the country

A coalition of 120 local councils have formed and called on the Federal Government to supercharge the country’s supply of affordable electric vehicles.

Councilor at the City of Yarra, Amanda Stone, wants strong fuel efficiency standards to be implemented by the government and more charging stations as well for electric vehicles.

“There’s a petrol station on almost every corner in Melbourne especially, and there needs to be EV charging stations too,” Councilor Stone told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
