Owner of Shawn’s Swim School in Hoppers Crossing, Shawn Read, has stated more pool space and infrastructure is needed in the country so new arrivals can be taught how to swim.

It comes after two men drowned trying to save a toddler from a pool on the Gold Coast on the weekend.

“They need to be able to learn how to survive in deep water, as unfortunately this shocking case in Queensland illustrates,” Mr Read told Tony Jones on 3AW Mornings.
