Drivers should be stopped from using their phones with technology that blocks phones from receiving data, in an unusual push from Victoria’s peak cycling group.
A new report has found distraction behind the wheel is expected to increase the road toll by 14 per cent in the next 12 years.
“We want people to get off their phones when they are in the car,” Craig Richards, CEO of the Bicycle Network said.
“We’re seeing this terrible research that’s come out that showed the number of fatalities and serious injuries will increase.”
