New research published today shows corporal punishment is ineffective in changing a child’s behaviour and is leading to children decreasing their trust in their parents.

Professor at the Australian Catholic University, Daryl Higgins, conducted this research and called for change in corporal punishment laws in the country.

“Let’s change the laws, let’s change the attitudes and get parents the supports that they need,” Professor Higgins told Tom Elliott.
