With Victoria’s road death toll up 23 per cent this year, a road safety advocate has shared his ideas to make driving safer.

Founder of Carmen’s Road Safety School, John Maher, says he wants road safety to be a compulsory subject for year 10 students.

“I would like to see the government change the 120 hours to 200 hours … I think education must be compulsory as a subject in every school in Australia … I would have it as a one-term subject, it only needs to be one term.” he told Neil Mitchell.
