A question from entertainer Rob Mills has caught Tom Elliott’s attention, relating to a fast train up the east coast of Australia.

The Australian actor and singer took to social media recently to question why there isn’t a fast train from Melbourne to Sydney, and the 3AW Mornings host said he’s right.

“I think fundamentally it just sounds like a good idea,” Elliott said.

Director of the City Futures Research Centre from the UNSW, Professor Christopher Pettit, thinks it’s “necessary” to have a fast train between the major cities on the east coast.

“It’s a lot of money, but what we’ve got is growing pains in our cities,” Professor Pettit told Tom Elliott.
