Jacqui Felgate has reacted to the “out of control” scenes after the Katy Perry concert at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday night, with concert goers copping hefty charges for short taxi rides from the venue.
The 3AW Drive host highlighted how the government employed inspectors to book dodgy taxi drivers during the Australian Open, but she had a simple question after the weekend’s drama.
“This is not an isolated incident,” Felgate said.

Mother Adele took her eight-year-old daughter to the concert on Saturday night, and detailed her “distressing” experience after the show on 3AW.
“It was a really bitter end to the night unfortunately,” Adele said.

Leading taxi advocate and founder of the Transport Matters Party, Rod Barton, said the taxi industry needs regulation, and said what happened to taxi customers on the weekend is “outrageous”.
“We’ve created a mess,” Mr Barton told Jacqui Felgate.
