Leading quantum physicist Michelle Simmons posed a simple question to Ross and John this morning to explain the science behind the race to build the world’s fastest computer.

But the answer is anything but simple.

Ross asked the renowned University of New South Wales scientist what the ‘brainiacs of the world’ are working on.

‘There’s an international race to try and build a computer that works entirely on the quantum regime, if we can do that we get a much faster computer than we have these days,’ she said.

‘Basically it will allow you to solve problems in minutes, that would normally take thousands of years.’

Burnso: What sort of a question could you ask me that would take 1000 years?!
