The reason there is ‘no point’ washing raw chicken before cooking

Australians are being urged to stop washing their raw chicken.

Dr Kylie Hewson, Deputy Executive Director of the Australian Chicken Meat Federation, said there was no need to do it.

And all you’re potentially doing is spreading bacteria across the kitchen with splashing water.

“And you don’t really want that,” she said.
