For some, being late is the height of rudeness.

For others, it’s a habit they simply cannot shake.

Psychologist Kim Cullen told Tom Elliott on Tuesday there were a number of factors why some people were routinely late, ranging from “saying yes to everything” and being “unreasonably optimistic” about how quickly they could arrive.

She said it was when it became a regular issue that it became rude.

“It’s perpetual lateness that is rude,” she said.

And she agreed with Tom Elliott that the excuse of bad traffic had “worn thin” as an excuse.
